Assessment & Planning Committee Role
The Assessment and Planning Committee provides oversight of the CAN Assessment and Planning documents and process.
Chair:
- Voted on by Assessment & Planning Committee membership
- Serves minimum 1 yr. term (January-December)
- Serves on the CAN Executive Committee
- Committee may decide to have Co-chairs
Membership:
- Planners from the CAN Partners
- Other CAN members or community members with interest and expertise in Assessment and Planning
Term for Members:
Recommended 2 yr. minimum (allowing for consistency)
Meeting Frequency:
Fourth Thursday of each month from 3:00-4:30pm currently at Palm Square 100 N. IH35, in room 2307 (exceptions will be noted)
Annual CAN Retreat – The CAN retreat is held on a Friday in October. CAN Assessment and Planning Committee Members are encouraged to attend.
Function:
CAN Assessment and Planning Committee
- Determine plan for CAN assessment and planning work based on CAN goals
- Review, make recommendations and approve the assessment and planning documents produced by the CAN Planning bodies
- Ensure the CAN documents are: Accurate, Useful, Accessible and Balanced
- Ensure that there is consistency in the look and design of CAN documents
- Ensure that the CAN Planning Process is inclusive
- Recommend the CAN assessment and planning documents to the Resource Council for publication and distribution
Member Responsibilities:
- Keep their own organization informed of CAN activities and information
- Attend monthly meetings and the CAN retreat
- Share CAN information with community groups, when appropriate
- Participate in creation of CAN assessment and Planning documents
