Volunteer Benefits Counselor
The volunteer Benefits Counselor assists senior Texans who are age sixty or older and others who are Medicare eligible by providing information and counseling regarding Medicare, Medicaid, Social Security, insurance, public benefits programs, prescription medication programs and other issues of interest to seniors.
Complete training and support are provided to insure a successful and rewarding volunteer experience.
Volunteer Ombudsman
Volunteer Ombudsmen serve as advocates for quality care in long term care facilities. The ombudsman develops relationships with facility residents and staff and acts as a positive problem solver and caring communicator to insure the resident’s best quality of life.
Desired qualities for volunteers include common sense, a caring heart, commitment to help, and effective communication skills. Complete training and support are provided to insure a successful and rewarding volunteer experience.
