BOOTH STAFFING

Staff booths at health fairs, seminars, etc. as DACT representative

CANISTER PICK UP and PLACEMENT

Pick up or place DACT coin canisters at various Austin business locations

  • 8 hours/month
  • must have own transportation

SPAMARAMA® 2007

  • April 7, 2007 – 29th anniversary, 8 am – 7 pm, various times and shifts
  • Set up, Take down, admission gate, ticket sales, beverage serving, t-shirt sales, stage hands, cash office, security, and more!
  • 29th anniversary of the ultimate Austintatious event!
  • Excellent group activity!

AUSTIN FINE ARTS FESTIVAL – BEVERAGE BOOTH

  • April 14 & 15, 2007, 11 am – 7 pm, (two shifts each day)
  • Serve beverages to festival attendees

CELEBRATION 2007

Support the annual awards reception benefit.

  • Fall, 2007, (date, tbd)
  • Recruit sponsors for the event
  • Secure donations for the silent auction
  • Place reminder phone calls to donors and supporters
  • Help with mail outs
  • Volunteer at the event in various positions

COMMUNITY CONNECTOR

Assist staff and participants in planning and attending group outings and community field trips, or help individuals with personal tasks such as shopping, banking, house keeping, etc.

ADVOCATE

Work one-on-one with a participant in a buddy capacity. Activities include socialization and assisting the client in attaining needed services.

  • 2-4 hours/month

ADMINISTRATIVE

Answer telephone and relay messages. Greet visitors and guests. Type, file and copy documents as needed.

AGENCY COMMITTEES

  • Permanent commitment with varied times for on-going agency projects
  • Development – Plan and coordinate fund raising and outreach.
  • Finance – Develop and review financial, budget and audit documents.
  • Administration – Recommend policies and procedures.
  • Business Advisory – Oversight of federal employment grant.

LICENSED COUNSELOR

  • Client support, as needed, by licensed professional

SITUATIONAL ASSESSMENT

  • Provide a workplace site for agency clients to “try out” their employment skills alongside agency staff. Examples of tasks include folding clothing, stocking retail shelves, answering phones, cleaning, etc.

VOLUNTEER COORDINATOR

Stay in touch with agency volunteers, coordinate volunteers with tasks, complete applications for volunteer group projects.
