Mental Health Resources

The Samaritan Counseling Center will see individuals, families, and children anyone directly affected by Hurricanes Katrina or Rita for counseling services either at one of our satellite offices in Central Austin, Georgetown, San Marcos, Downtown Austin, Northwest Austin, or Lake Travis. We will provide services for not only evacuees, but anyone directly affected including caretakers, case managers, and counselors working with evacuees. Beginning in April, we will have two counselors in the community to provide services at apartment complexes, churches, or other locations convenient to evacuees who do not have access to transportation. These services are offered through the "Collaboration" with MHMR that Keith referenced in an earlier e-mail with one slight correction. Services do not need to begin at PES/Intake. Services may begin with any Samaritan Center counselor OR PES/Intake. Call the Samaritan Counseling Center at 451-7337 for an in-office appointment or to be referred to a counselor in the community for in-home services.
